HOW IT WORKS

Hydro-seeding is a fast, efficient, and economical grass planting process. The process is more effective than conventional seeding and just a fraction of the cost of sod.

Hydro-seeding begins by mixing pre-determined amounts of mulch, grass seed, fertilizer and water into the hydro-seeding tank. Inside the tank the material is mixed together to form a spray able mixture ready to be applied to the required areas.

Once applied to the soil, the material provides an environment beneficial to seed growth. 

Soil moisture is important in the aid of seed germination. The material retains water and forms a barrier over the soil reducing evaporation from the soil.

Hydro-seeding also provides erosion control by helping to hold the soil in place and reducing the possibility that the seeds will be washed away therefore establishing a more uniform coverage of grass.

Tackifiers can also be added to the mixture forming a stronger bond, generally used for steeper slopes.

The materials that are applied are weed free. However, the existing soil on the ground will likely have weeds present. When the fertilizer and water from the mixture are applied weeds will usually appear.

When all conditions are favorable it is possible to be ready for the first mowing after just a few weeks. And, have a fully established lawn within a couple of months.
